Free From the Bondage of Depression
Aaron Lee
We can experience certain typical behaviors during periods of gloominess such as □as becoming easily agitated or frequently getting into bad mood.□ Likewise, during these times we often feel less capable of handing the situations that come our way.□ We are more self-protective and become reluctant to open up. These are certainly painful circumstances that are difficult to take. Relaxing is easier said than done.
The task is hard but it is doable. Furthermore, the more grueling the task is, the more valuable the result will be if the mission is accomplished. Thus, we ought to loosen up during the time of darkness. The following are a few useful ideas:
1) Rest and get a good-night sleep
Often we suffer from sleepless nights during a dismal time. Our quality of sleep deteriorates to a level that we need more time to sleep. Meanwhile, we feel irritated at ourselves for having too much sleep and in turn force ourselves to sleep less. On the contrary, our body actually craves for more sleep when we are in a depression.□ Listen to your body, go to bed and get some sleep.
2) Eat and exercise regularly
In addition to getting enough sleep it’s important to eat well and exercise regularly. When we are unhappy and dejected, we usually don’t have much of an appetite. This can through our health out of balance and often means we have less energy. When you don’t have enough strength, you don’t feel like working out or getting any exercise.□ People who exercise regularly may stop doing so and start to feel lethargic and unwell.□
You need to reward yourself when you are depressed. Eat the best tasting, healthiest food. Usually it is better to eat something that you like the most. Doing so will open up your appetite and preserve it as long as possible. In addition, it will maintain sustainable strength and encourage yourself to work out.□ If you have a habit of exercising regularly, keep doing so. If you don’t work out normally, force yourself to do so. □□Even a short walk will start to help.
Get your rest assured, sleep soundly, eat regularly, and work out hard during time of gloominess. Doing so can make you loosen-up and free yourself from the bondage of depression in as short a time as possible.
Try it and it will work.
